Ray Edwards is healthy and optimistic

DE Ray Edwards had knee surgery for the 2nd straight offseason. He says this time is different, though. Edwards said the truncated offseason of 2011 never allowed him to get healthy before his 1st campaign as a Falcon. He said the knee trouble led to a lower-leg issue. Edwards also said last year's scheme introduced coverage responsibilities to his role. This year, Edwards says he's fully healthy and back to simply focusing on rushing the passer. A $30 million free agent last summer, Edwards arrived in Atlanta off 2 straight 8+ sack seasons. If healthy, he should be able to get back to that level this season. He stands as an IDP sleeper who should be available very late in drafts.
