Southern Calif. jury gets case in gay teen killing

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jurors began deliberating Friday in the case of a California teenager who shot a gay classmate to death in front of shocked students.
After an arduous trial that lasted eight weeks and saw nearly 100 witnesses take the stand, jurors are now tasked with determining whether Brandon McInerney, who was 14 at the time of the 2008 attack, was filled with homophobic, white-supremacist rage when he shot 15-year-old Larry King, or if he was provoked into the killing by unwanted sexual advances from his classmate.
Jurors have heard lengthy arguments supporting and rebutting both lines of argument.
