Virginia Tech Coach Frank Beamer said Monday on his weekly teleconference that he won’t release any information on the status of injured cornerback Jayron Hosley (hamstring) and defensive end James Gayle (ankle) until the team’s official injury report comes out on Thursday.
Gayle, who sprained his left ankle on the first defensive series of the Miami game, tried to practice last week before the team announced Thursday he would not travel to Wake Forest. Hosley came up gimpy and grabbed his left hamstring when Wake Forest wide receiver Chris Givens beat him on a 79-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter Saturday.
