Tech hoops gets second commitment for 2012 -- Rustburg forward Marshall Wood

Virginia Tech this morning got its second basketball commitment for the Class of 2012.
It came from Marshall Wood, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward from Rustburg High, according to Wood’s high school coach, Brantley Shields.
Wood, who was recruited by James Johnson, also had scholarship offers from Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth, according to Rivals.com. Rustburg is located 20 minutes south of Lynchburg.
The Hokies, who open this season Nov. 12 at home against East Tennessee State, currently have 12 scholarship players – one shy of the NCAA maximum – because power forward Allan Chaney was not medically cleared by the school due to a heart condition and the scarring it caused.
