The Sox will not fire Valentine before the end of the season

Contrary to earlier reports, The Sox will not fire Bobby Valentine before the end of the season. Too bad. Ben Cherington said they will stick to their plan and let him finish the season.

"Nothing is up," Cherington said via email when asked if his visit involved the status of manager Bobby Valentine.

Cherington and the owners have said several times that Valentine will finish out the season and then be evaluated. They seem to be sticking to that plan.
