The face of the facilities

While waiting for practice to start Wednesday morning and again Wednesday night, I snapped off a few photos of the face of three of Alabama’s major athletic facilities next to the practice field: Coleman Coliseum, Sewell-Thomas Field and Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility.
When Mal Moore was promoted to athletics director at Alabama in 1999, one of his plans was to overhaul the facilities and give each building a “face.” He always felt that Alabama’s athletic facilities didn’t have a solid, identifiable focal point. Those of us who remember the way the facilities looked back then might agree.
