The 757 area code, which encompasses the Hampton Roads region of Virginia, has produced a large number of Virginia Tech’s great players over the years. At quarterback alone, it has given the Hokies the likes of Michael Vick, Bryan Randall and Tyrod Taylor.
In terms of number of recruits, the Lynchburg-Danville region can’t compete with Hampton Roads, or the 757 as players call it, but the 434 is certainly gaining more attention recently with the success of Hokies quarterback Logan Thomas, from Lynchburg, and running back David Wilson, from Danville.
“It’s been the 757 ever since [Tech] started getting pretty good, so it’s about that time for us to step up and try to make a name for the 434,” Thomas
