The Detroit Tigers have released reliever David Pauley after the right-hander got off to a slow start in spring training. The Tigers announced the move Monday after a 7-all tie with the New York Mets in 10 innings. Pauley gave up five earned runs in 2 2-3 exhibition innings. Pauley had a 2.15 ERA in 39 appearances for Seattle last season before being traded with starter Doug Fister in August.
