Tuberville: Coaches need more time with players

Preseason camps will kick off the first week in August around the country, signaling the unofficial start of football season.
Until then, though, players are at the mercy of strength and conditioning coaches, as well as their own voluntary workouts, which coaches are banned from viewing or attending in any way by the NCAA.
That recent change, Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville says, should end.
"You try to do the best you can in terms of keeping up with [your players], and I think we need a lot more time that you can spend with players in terms of coaches. I can’t hardly talk to our players in the summer, but we’re responsible for them," Tuberville said. "We want them to do right 24 hours a day, but
