Just like last night, we’ll start with a quick injury report …
Virginia Tech whip outside linebacker Jeron Gouveia-Winslow missed his second consecutive practice tonight after spraining his left foot in Saturday’s win over Miami. Gouveia-Winslow had X-rays Saturday and again today, but Tech’s training staff is still trying to determine the severity of his injury, so he will have an MRI later in the week, said trainer Mike Goforth.
Gouveia-Winslow’s status will be announced in Thursday’s injury report, but it is looking more and more like Alonzo Tweedy will be the whip Saturday at Wake Forest.
The other defensive starter injured against Miami – end James Gayle (sprained left ankle; not a high sprain)
