Upset watch: Week 7
Source: ACC Football Blog - Oct 12, 2011 at 1:16 PM
Finally. One week that consists entirely of conference play. There’s not one nonconference game on the schedule, which means if an upset is going to happen, it’s going to come from within the league. And no, a team doesn’t have to be ranked for it to be considered an upset (See: Duke vs. Florida State).
In each of the past three weeks, the No. 1 game on this list has come to fruition: Clemson over FSU, Clemson over Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest over Florida State. We’ll see if the trend continues in Week 7:
1. Virginia Tech at Wake Forest: On Monday, Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer said Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe would get his vote for ACC Coach of the Year at the midpoint of the season.
