Virginia Tech WRs Danny Coale and Jarrett Boykin in a race for records

It’s not often that wide receivers Danny Coale and Jarrett Boykin create controversy; both are team-first players who shy away from the spotlight. But as the Hokies enter the stretch run of this season, the two find themselves in a bit of a conundrum.
After Coale led all receivers with eight catches for 128 yards Saturday in a win over Boston College, he moved past Antonio Freeman and Ricky Scales into second place on Virginia Tech’s all-time receiving yards list. Of course, the only player ahead of him is Boykin, who set the new record two weeks ago against Miami and is currently 222 yards ahead of Coale after snagging five catches for 46 yards Saturday.
