BLACKSBURG -- As if Saturday night's 23-3 loss to Clemson wasn't painful enough, Virginia Tech also lost the services of starting defensive tackle Antoine Hopkins for the rest of the season.

Hopkins sustained a torn ACL in his right knee and will undergo surgery Friday at Montgomery Regional Hospital, Tech coach Framk Beamer said Monday.
