Virginia Tech's pass protection is much-improved, injuries are mounting and David Wilson is stalking rushing records

Here’s a few odds and ends that didn’t make print from Virginia Tech’s 30-14 win against Boston College:
-Tech has surrendered one sack in its last three games, and just eight sacks all season. BC didn’t have a sack.
Coming into Saturday's game, Tech's eight sacks given up were tied for 25th least in the country. That's a heck of a sight better than what Tech gave up last season (34), in 2009 (31), in '08 (42) and in '07 (54).
There’s no question Thomas’ mobility and ability to shed tackles with his 6-foot-6, 254-pound frame has something to do with the decreased sacks, but the protection has certainly improved.
