WR Nicks (toe) works on side

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Receiver Hakeem Nicks worked on the side during the early portion of Monday's practice, catching corner end zone practices from Giants quarterbacks Eli Manning and David Carr. He was not in pads and may appear as a "did not practice" on the official practice report, but Nicks (toe) has said he will play in Wednesday's season-opener in Dallas. Marvin Austin (back) was not in pads but did some work on the side. Austin has said that he is hoping to make his debut in Week 2 against Tampa.
