What's wrong with Florida State?

Everyone keeps talking about the preseason expectations surrounding Florida State this year -- the media hype, the No. 6 ranking, the predicted first-place finish in the ACC media poll -- all votes of confidence that came from outside the program.
Don't forget, though, that those within the program were buying into the hype, too, starting at the top:
