While the realignment carousel spun last summer, coaches were enjoying their least busy time of the year: summer.

While rumors of Texas A&M moving to the SEC swirled, coaches like Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy were wrapped up in fall camps. Gundy hadn't heard a word about the possibility of A&M leaving the SEC until he was walking off the practice field on Friday morning and a couple of his players mentioned it.
"Once I get started, I don’t pay much attention to anything," Gundy said. "I didn’t know anything about it."
