Just a quick follow-up to our last post about LockerPulse in the Google Chrome Web App Store. We’re now being featured in the News and weather category. Thank you to all who have installed, rated and reviewed!

Today Google officially unveiled the Chrome Web Store as a part of their Chrome Event. LockerPulse is proud to be one of the many great apps available upon launch. You can “install” LockerPulse by visiting the LockerPulse app page in the Google Chrome web browser.

As of now, the only additional “feature” that will be available to you will be the option to link your Google account to your LockerPulse account so that you’ll be automatically logged in to LockerPulse any time that you’re logged in to Google. In the future, installed apps will be able to better utilize HTML5 and other modern features that are just now becoming available in the web browser.

It’s been a busy week. A few days ago we unveiled our new design. Today, after months of research by our team and many suggestions from our users, we’ve completed our news source project.

We’ve added 566 new news sources from some of the very best newspapers, beat-writers, blog networks, and individual sports bloggers. While there’s always room for improvement, we feel very confident that fans of all teams will enjoy both the simplicity of LockerPulse and the depth of coverage that we provide.

One word of caution: you will be automatically subscribed to all new news sources for your teams. We do this to expose users to new and potentially interesting content, however when we’re adding several sources per team it can be overwhelming. Remember, you can always control exactly which sources you see in your news feed and in your newsletter by logging in and clicking on the “Settings” tab.

Yesterday we released a big design revamp on the site. We’ve also fixed a few bugs and made some features more usable. I could go on and on about everything we did, but it’s much easier to see (and way more fun!) if you just visit the home page and start poking around. If you’ve got an account, log in and check out how much smoother the experience is. And if you don’t, sign up for a 30-day free trial and see what you’re missing!

One of the things we noticed with new visitors interested in trying out our Premium Account was that they weren’t willing to sign up for the PayPal subscription. While the subscription was free for the first 30 days and users could cancel at any time prior to that without getting charged, it seemed as if there was a barrier to signing up because people didn’t want to commit to any type of subscription just after finding our site, and understandably so. What we did was get rid of all of the reasons not to try LockerPulse. We’re 100% confident that you’ll fall in love with it just like we have. Now when you register, you’re immediately taken to set up your teams. No PayPal subscription. No billing information. If, after 30 days, you like what we’re doing here you will have the option of signing up for a $3.99/month subscription. If not, you will have gotten a full month of usage without entering any personal information beyond an email address. Now there’s no excuses – give it a shot and sign up today!

We will be migrating the site to a vastly improved server configuration today. Starting now (Saturday 6/19 at 11:30 AM EST), any changes you make to your account may not be saved, and there may be some time when the site is not accessible. As soon as we’re back up and running at full speed we’ll let you know. We’re hoping that by doing this on a weekend we’re not affecting too many people. We appreciate your patience and apologize if there’s any inconvenience.

UPDATE: the final move is scheduled for tonight 6/20 at approximately 7 PM EST. I will post an update once it is complete. Until then you should have full access to your account and everything that you adjust should be saved.
